In case you think this is out of the ordinary weather......It is not. Just sayin'.
Pretty much right on schedule, things started to calm down this last month. It went from 6 offers on a property down to two.
That's actually an improvement. Inventory is slowly starting to rise, as it does every year, and there are actually some REALLY special properties on the market right now.
This slowing down in the market doesn’t mean prices are moderating, they are still at all-time highs. We will see how they fare by the end of Summer, but at the moment, it's looking like there will be a clean sell through of properties, and we will STILL be below 3 months of inventory.

I can't see an event that will heal that dearth of properties for sale until the Marchese and Barrel Springs projects on the Westside come online. Even that inventory will have modest impact.
Folks are beginning to "decamp" more and more to The Dalles, where you can actually get a really nice home under $350,000. I'm philosophically opposed to making our workforce leave town every evening. Frankly, we should expect more from ourselves. But I digress.
Market in Hood River is strong, and crowded, but not out of control like it was in March and April. It's a great time to come out and take a look......Oh, and if you do, COME GET A SALMON PLANKING KIT FROM US! (check out the video: www.copperwest.com/salmon) It's hilarious.
