I agree Joel. It’s such a jumble early on as we get used to the changing method of dealing with Real Estate Sales in Hood River. I think there are new “axioms” forming, and we can start to see them…Unfortunately, they are based on a state of somewhat permanent stress. Glad to hear you sold your home, BTW.

Unlike most months, this is all seems clear and I don’t have any questions. Not that the message is that good.

Based on the old canard (a recession is when your neighbor loses his job, a depression is when you lose your job, and a panic is when your wife loses her job) it seems Paul Krugman is not too far off calling this the “lesser depression”.

By and large, our values held steady longer than most, and most certainly haven’t cratered like many other places in the country, even in our state. We only REALLY felt this downdraft last spring to effectively this spring, which I felt is kind of short. I’m hoping we don’t hit a round two, but who knows…..I do know, however, that there’s active trading in property going on, and sales are not entirely tragic……so there’s that goin for us!
