We’re Number 3!

Yes, Yes, I know, there’s some line out there about #3 is the second loser, or something like that………However, I’d point out that Copper West has been running full time in our new location for only a year, with three Brokers. We have the highest average sale and listing price too.

Our new addition to the team of Carmen, and Judy bodes well, as does our increasing reputation. All in all, a great Summer. The Flux of Fall should be a very, very, interesting time………….

The Market is still in hold. Lots of Buyers, (Real ones) lots of price reductions, lot and lots of mindset shift required. Soon the Buyers will breakout, but the advantage is still tipped towards the buyers, even in a multiple offer situation, mostly because the Sellers can no longer name their price and terms. A “caution discount” is being levied.

I was talking to another Broker yesterday and the comment was made…….”Most of these agents have never seen a market that goes down, or a price that stays flat!”

I agree……….Time for real advice and measured analysis, not hyperbole.

"it’s like standing on the beach in a flourescent pink wetsuit"

….Just had a funny phone call with a Seller’s agent. Some people don’t change when the market shifts………They hammer their same old tired lines about this and that, lecturing about how the Buyer has to do this, and the buyer has to do that……….and the entire time I can’t get this picture out of my head. Flourescent Pink wetsuits on the beach. (It’s a cliche’ for an out of touch windsurfer.)

Enough!

I’m calling it. It is now a Buyer’s market in Hood River. From 600 and down. Sellers are piling up everywhere! Oil, Interest rates, lack of a vibrant recoverable enonmy here in HR,(Tourism is veneer-thin, and a bad long term bet anyway) Measure 37…….I could go on, but it’s monday and I don’t want to depress everyone this week.
